Nightcap at Writer’s Block Rehab? Part 3 of 3 cocktail spots to hit in Philly!

Now you’re probably wondering how two adults have managed to consume so many cocktails in one day. Here’s a few tips.

1. Hydrate! At Royal Boucherie, Philadelphia Distilling, and Writer’s Block Rehab, an adorable cocktail lounge on 1342 Cypress Street, we had several glasses of water.

2. Eat some food! Pacing your alcoholic intake with a meal or two is ideal.

3. DO NOT MIX! Up until we had hit Writer’s Block Rehab, I had stuck with vodka and gin. It is when one deviates from whatever base alcohol they’ve been drinking to everything, that mistakes, and hangovers happen. So for those of you reading, liking, commenting, and sharing, remember to listen to your body. Hydrate and eat some food to sop up all that alcohol. Fortunately for myself and my husband, we’re pretty good at pacing ourselves!

Writer’s Block Rehab, as mentioned, is a little cocktail lounge on 1342 Cypress Street. They have been open for almost a full decade, and the hubby and I discovered it in a rather unique way. If anyone is a fan of the television show, Love It or List It, and loves Hilary Farr, check out her Tough Love with Hilary Farr on HGTV. It is there that she patronized Writer’s Block Rehab we estimate sometime in 2021. Fortunately, they are still open and have lovely cocktails! I had The Bombshell, a drink comprising of bourbon, amaro, campari, and bitters. It was bitter, smooth, and a definite palate cleanser to all the gin and vodka that I had consumed. I highly recommend this and really all the cocktails here. Eric ordered a classic Aperol Spritz. We then met an adorable couple, and wound up spending a little bit more time than initially planned! There may have been a few rounds of Not a Nightcap, Mint 75, as well as Tea with the Queen.

If you haven’t gone to Writer’s Block Rehab for a nightcap, you should definitely head over! The staff was fantastic, drinks were great, and you may discover a new hidden gem in the city. And who knows… you might just see Hilary Farr!
