Sipping Bluecoat at Philadelphia Distillery! Part 2 of 3 cocktail spots to hit in Philly!
Following our lovely midday lunch at Royal Boucherie, we hit Philadelphia Distillery just outside of Fishtown in Northern Liberties. Now, for the lucky few of us, we get a complimentary drink. Why? Because we have a coin. For those that attended the launch of Liberte Blue at the Sofitel hotel in the late summer of 2017, all attendees received a Bluecoat coin. You were then supposed to turn in the coin on your next visit to Philadelphia Distilling for a complimentary drink. But there was one problem. It was so well made, no one traded it in for a drink for over a year. January of 2019 started a new trend. Show your coin, get a drink on the house. Luckily for us, I had the coin in my purse!
We started off with several cocktails from the seasonal menu. If you’re curious about what cocktails they have, go to their website, click on their visits tab, and click on the tasting room menu. It’s a little convoluted, but it will be worth it! Thank you in advance to all the staff at Philadelphia Distillery, especially our dear friend Jesse, and the GM, Josh!
Now, I ordered quite a few drinks, as did the hubby, so it was wise to order a few things to snack on as well. The salmon blt was fabulous, and new on the menu, and the crispy potatoes. The beautifully charred ahi tuna that came with a seaweed salad was to die for! If you follow Philadelphia Distillery on Facebook, or Instagram, you’ll get a delicious number of cocktails to try. One drink that I had looked like water, and was garnished with a cherry blossom. I’ll leave you to figure out which drink it is…
