Vivre la France! Part 1 of 3 cocktail spots to hit in Philly!
Bonjour mes amies! Ca va bien? Oui? Non? Well, when it is Friday, it occasionally doesn’t matter if you are in a good or bad mood because its Friyay! A day to drink your cares away. Well, on this particular Friday, I was in the mood for gin and escargot. Something different from the lunches that I would make at home, and I finally convinced the hubby to chill and do a little bar hopping with me!
Our first stop was Royal Boucherie! A lovely, lively French Bistro style restaurant in Old City, between 2nd and Chestnut streets. If you haven’t been there for a drink, brunch, lunch, or dinner, then welcome to your new favorite French spot! It had been a while since we had gone for drinks, and ironically enough, I had never had lunch there before. We started with beautifully done shrimp cocktail, with homemade cocktail sauce, smoked salmon tartine, which included creme fraiche, pickled onion, radish, and a citrus vinaigrette, and a wonderfully done salade lyonnaise. For our drinks, we ordered Sesame’s Child with sesame oil washed vodka, plum, and salted demerara. It was amazing, and as long as you don’t have any allergies, a fantastic option! I wound up having two of those to start. Eric had the Garden Gimlet with gin, passionfruit, and mandarin. It was incredibly light, and paired very well with our food items. the last cocktail I ordered was there We Can Pickle That! cocktail. This is one of the most creative cocktails that we’ve had in a while. Ramp infused gin, cocchi americano, house pickled vegetables, all served in a tiny glass. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my Sesame’s Child drink, but I would’ve ordered nothing but We Can Pickle That! with our food selections. Thank you to everyone at Royal Boucherie for a lovely start to our drinking day!
